Mississippi Healthy Marriage Initiative

The Mississippi Healthy Marriage Initiative, led by Mississippi State University Extension Service, is a collaboration of community organizations, agencies, groups and individuals organized to develop strong couples and healthy children in Mississippi through the recognition and support of healthy marriages. The initiative’s website, www.MarriageMississippi.com, serves as a clearinghouse of information regarding available programs, relevant research, resources, and helpful information about healthy relationships throughout the lifespan. In addition, this website provides a list of healthy relationship programs, events and activities occurring throughout the state.

Healthy Marriage Week

February 7-14 is designated each year as Healthy Marriage Week in Mississippi. This campaign, designed to raise awareness regarding the benefits of healthy marriages, is promoted throughout the state through television and radio public service announcements, news articles and releases, press conferences, and various community activities. Partners from the private and public sectors as well as the faith based community are involved in promoting this event and providing activities and programs following the campaign.
